Sierra is fighting off a monster that goes by the name of Primary Pulmonary Hypertension (or PPH). PPH is a disease of unknown origin that chokes off the pulmonary artery, preventing oxygen from entering the blood and causing the heart to overwork itself. Sierra already has fended off several bouts with this beast. Now as a Fredericksburg (TX) High School sophomore, Sierra is mustering support for her biggest showdown: a double lung transplant.

Those of us who know her, those of us who have been inspired by her, are closing ranks behind her.
